Stihl MS 261/C

Garden and grounds machines

The Stihl MS 261 is a professional grade petrol chainsaw aimed at forestry and arborist work, sitting in the mid range of Stihl's professional saw line up. It is powered by a Stihl single cylinder engine of around 50cc, balancing light weight with enough power for felling and limbing medium sized timber. The C and C-M variants add features such as Easy2Start and M-Tronic electronic engine management for easier starting and automatic engine adjustment. It is valued by professional users for its durability and relatively low weight for its power class.

Check the condition of the chain brake, clutch and anti vibration mounts, and ask about recent decompression valve and carburettor service. On M-Tronic models confirm the electronic engine management is functioning correctly, and inspect the bar and sprocket for wear.
