The Hermès carré is the house's signature square silk scarf, typically around ninety centimetres to a side, made in twill silk or crêpon mousseline and hand rolled at the edges. It is produced in numerous decorative themes drawn from equestrian, nautical, historical and decorative art motifs, each design issued in limited colourways. It sits at the core of the Hermès accessories range and is prized as much for the artwork as for the garment.
