LIP Himalaya

Jewellery, watches and silver

The LIP Himalaya is a vintage automatic wristwatch produced by the French manufacturer LIP, known for its distinctive case design and, in some versions, a visible balance wheel through a window on the dial, known as the coeur battant or beating heart feature. It sits among LIP's classic mid century automatic watches, aimed at everyday wear with a dress watch look. Variants exist with day and date complications.

1960s

We recognise this model across the auction sites and keep every one we see together.

On a used one

Check that the automatic movement winds and keeps time correctly, that the beating heart window if present is intact and the balance visible, and that the case and crystal have not been overly polished or replaced. Ask about service history since vintage LIP movements can need specialist attention.

Not at the moment. The lots of this model that come to auction appear on this page while they are open, and every sale that closes with a price is added to the table.

Are the LIP Himalaya hammer prices free to read?

Hammer prices are what the auction house recorded when the lot closed, before the buyer's premium, in the currency of the sale. A sale listed on a house's own site and on its platform counts once. Doubt a figure? Open the sale and its listing is linked there. How prices are recorded.
