Citroen Mehari

Cars

The Citroen Mehari is a lightweight, open bodied leisure vehicle built on the running gear of the Citroen 2CV and Dyane. Its body panels are made of ABS plastic, which resists dents and corrosion, and the car was designed for beach, farm and utility use with a simple, fun character. It can be driven as a two wheel drive or later also as a four wheel drive version.

Built

1968 to 1988

We recognise this model across the auction sites and keep every one we see together.

On a used one

Check the condition of the chassis and subframe for rust, as these are steel and bear the mechanical load despite the plastic body. Also inspect the simple canvas roof and soft fittings for wear, and verify that the 2CV derived engine and running gear are sound.
