JCB 85Z-1

Construction and earthmoving machines

The JCB 85Z-1 is a zero tailswing compact excavator weighing around 8 to 9 tonnes, designed for working close to walls and in confined sites without the rear overhang fouling obstacles. It sits in JCB's mini excavator range above the smaller Z models, fitted with a dozer blade, offset boom and hydraulic quick hitch as typical equipment. It suits groundworks, utilities and general earthmoving where compactness and all round visibility matter.

On a used one

Check the undercarriage and rubber tracks for wear, inspect the hydraulic quick hitch and auxiliary piping for leaks, and test the boom offset and blade functions. Ask about service history and hours, as these machines often see heavy site use.
