Jaguar XK8

Cars

The XK8 is Jaguar's two door grand tourer, sold as a coupe and a convertible from 1996 to 2006. It introduced Jaguar's AJ V8 engine, at first 4.0 litres and later 4.2, with the supercharged XKR alongside. It is a comfortable long distance car with a strong following among classic buyers.

Check the plastic timing chain tensioners of the early V8 and, on early 4.0 litre cars, whether the Nikasil cylinder bores have been checked or the engine replaced; also look for rust on the sills and wheel arches.
