Check the hydraulic system and pump for wear, inspect the backhoe boom and dipper pins and bushings for play, and verify the condition of the transmission and axles especially on 4x4 versions. Also confirm engine hours are consistent with service records and look for signs of hydraulic leaks or structural cracks on the loader frame.
